Nobody knows the news to be seen... Nobody knows, not even Dean..
I can't link to anything because nothing's up yet, but here's a leak or three for ya.
The Young Democrats of Adams County endorsed Howard Dean for DNC Chair on Inaguration Day Thursday.
I'm still writing the press release for that and our elections next month for that.
OK, so we're small potatoes, right?
The Adams County Democratic Committee at a General Meeting attended by over 50 people last night decided to "strongly suggest" Howard Dean as DNC chair to Governor Rendell and Pennsylvania's delegates to the DNC meeting in DC next month.
Alright, that's just a small county in the "T" of the center of PA where the only Democrat to win is one I support strongly for Senate in '06 - Bob Casey...
Later last night, the Pennsylvania Young Democrats Executive Committee also voted to endorse Howard Dean's candidacy for DNC Chairman.
I was a voting member at all the votes above, as was Don Palesky, my Vice President here with the Adams County YDs. All votes exceeded 83% to endorse or support Howard Dean for DNC Chair.
Don and I are both hardly jumping on any bandwagon or agreeing with Dean on every issue. Don argues with people that Dean is a centrist, and I argue that we need the fundamental party reform and the stature of a figurehead leading the party at the same time, and only Howard Dean meets this adequately.
I believe Adams County is a great example of where the national party needs to invest. We have a big tourism industry, legions of willing volunteers, but sorely lack the resources or capital to make a home for ourself. A once large party, we have the fire and determination to take our county back and we know how to do it.
We've given so much - raising more for Kerry than was raised for Bush, sending thousands out of the county last year despite being outnumbered, and where we are weak is where we must build during these municipal elections.
None of us have a single DNC vote - the county YDs, the county party, or the PA YDs, but we are part of this party, and we are simply letting our voice be heard.

Young Democrats Gettysburg Anti-Inagural
The Young Democrats of Adams County have set their next meeting for Thursday
I will be presiding over our fist meeting in a while. The Young Democrats of Adams County will be meeting the third Thursday of each month at the Ragges Edge Coffeehouse at 7:00PM until further notice.
I know I haven't blogged much lately. I've blogged "in my head" but haven't put it on paper, so to speak.
So many issues to talk about. I am now officially part of the Host Committee for the YDA Founder's Day in DC during the DNC Chair Selection, and I have already secured a room for the weekend.
Part of my hesitation may be from people I know telling me they read my blog. I guess knowing people are actually reading what I type makes me hesitate more.
On the meeting, I might catch heck for calling it "Anti-Inagural", coordinating with DFA to drum up attendence, or endorsing the Steelers, but I am done listening and I'm going to start telling, may the chips fall where they may.

Founders Day | Young Democrats of America
Founders | Young Democrats of America
I will be attending the Young Democrats of America Founder's Day event in Washington, DC on February 11 and 12.
I will be attending with others from the PA Young Democrats, and I intend to serve on the Host Committee.
So far, with rooms and travel for the at least 3-4 of us who are going, base expenses will easily exceed $1,000 and any help to defer the cost would be appreciated!. (Two rooms, tickets, fundraising commitment...)
