Hey Michigan - Our Teen Mayor's More Qualified than yours.

http://www.goerie.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051109/ELECTION/511090494

Yeah, so he's one week older.

But he fought at 17 and got the Democratic Nomination AT 17.

He didn't wait until he was 18 and do a write-in.

Plus his victory was LARGE and DECISIVE, and uphill.

Regarding being 18, our's said:
"I can't stress enough that's not why I'm doing it," he said in a March interview. "It's apparent that our economy has been failing, and it's going to take everyone in town and activism from council to promote it."

Two vote victory, and relying on a flimsy "18-year-old high school student" as a write in. Heh.

Ours can Mayor circles around yours.

Chris - The Youngest REALLY ELECTED Mayor, not one in on a sympathy "by".

Thank You to All Who Voted

My wife, my mother and I wish to say thank you to all of those people we met while greeting voters at the polls.

As your next Mayor, I take the position of Mayor seriously.

I ran on establishing 24 hour police protection and making the roads safer for pedestrians and drivers. Overall, I intend to make the safety of McSherrystown residents and businesses a priority.

I also take the economic stability of our community to heart. Our primary industrial companies (within the borough) are F.X. Smith and Sons (Cigars) and The Boyds Collection, Ltd. (Teddy Bears). The well being of the United States' oldest family owned cigar manufacturer and the most respected teddy bear manufacturer in the world means the well being of significant percentages of McSherrystown's employed population.

Other major employers of McSherrystown residents, such as other borough businesses, Utz, Clarks, Say Plastics, Conewago Enterprises, etc., must be considered as well.

McSherrystown is a part of the "Hanover Area" and should have strong representation in that arena. I intend to provide it. I intend to see McSherrystown join the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce.

I also intend to be as accessable as possible, with a new website:

MayorHerb.com

Before the beginning of my term, I will establish a constituent service website at this domain.

Also, my phone number is 717-521-1221, my cell phone is 717-634-6411.

I do screen my calls. If your number does not send Caller ID w/name, your call may not be answered. I work office hours, 9-6, M-F.

A form on my website, and the borough secretary may forward to my office any emergency issues.

I am unaware of many events that Mayor Noel attends, and need assistance and invitations from those organizations interested in my attendence come next year. I shall make every effort to accomodate each request.

Thank You Again!
