Today is Primary Election Day in Pennsylvania

Today is Election Day in McSherrystown and all of Pennsylvania.

Don't forget to vote!

Adams County Website for Polling Places and Election Results:
http://www.adamscounty.us/adams/site/default.asp

MCSHERRYSTOWN #1 SAVES STATION #1 238 MAIN ST MCSHERRYSTOWN 637-9171
MCSHERRYSTOWN #2 DELONE CATHOLIC HS GYM LOBBY 148 S OXFORD AVE 637-5969

Don't know where to vote? The best indicator is to look at your voter identification card, as it lists which district you are in.

Call the districts above if you are not sure if you are on their lists, as the descriptions below are my own and are subject to change.

If you live north of Ridge Ave/Oak Lane ("Sherry Village") and have a McSherrystown ZIP Code, you may have a Conewago Township Polling Place, as you do not live in McSherrystown Borough.

McSherrystown 1 is generally from plum creek east to Fourth Street, from Oak Lane and Fairview Ave. to St. Joseph's Lane and South Street. "West of Fourth Street"

McSherrystown 2 is bordered on the west by Fourth Street and on the east by Oxford Ave (3rd Street from Hanover), on the North by Ridge Ave (North 5th, 6th Streets included) and south to Cricket Lane. "East of Fourth Street"

Polls are open from 7:00AM to 8:00PM.

Offices open for PARTY NOMINATION (Republican/Democratic) today are:

State Supreme Court
State Superior Court
County Commissioner
Register and Recorder
Prothonotary
Auditor
McSherrystown Borough Council Member, Four Year Term
McSherrystown Borough Council Member, Two Year Term

(This list may not be exhaustive)

New Residents: Pennsylvania's primary is a closed major-party system. Only registered Republicans may vote in the Republican primary and registered Democrats in the Democratic primary. Registration closes 30 days before an election.

Independents and third party voters MAY, however, vote on any ballot measures/initiatives.

Independents and third party candidates are now circulating ballots to gain direct access to the November ballot.
