The storm that came through on August 3rd downed power lines and trees throughout McSherrystown, and was pretty localized to our area, even following a path of destruction.

However, it was not a tornado.

I am no expert, just a spotter (the experts ruled it not a tornado), but I think it was a downburst, as opposed to a wall cloud.

Everything fell to the West from a East-moving storm.




Fast Response

I'd also like to note the quick response of S.A.V.E.S., the Borough, McSherrystown P.D. and MetEd.

Numerous downed wires were secure within minutes, roads were cordoned off within an hour, long before it started getting dark.

All told, much of the problems were solved within six hours.
