Less than 24 hours after receiving the national endorsement of the Democratic Freedom Caucus, Herb Riede received another high profile endorsement in the race for Meadville City Council.
Roseanne Barr, a world famous comedian and star of TV's Roseanne from the 80s and 90s and the reboot that has been announced by ABC to be in production for new episodes starting in early 2018, has endorsed Herb Riede for City Council. Roseanne, who ran for president in 2012 and is very outspoken on Twitter, told Herb via private message on June 20th after learning of the DFC endorsement, "I will endorse U too-congrats!".
"Many of the issues depicted in Roseanne resonate with my own and many of those of the working-class community here in Meadville and Northwest Pennsylvania," said Herb Riede, "I believe Roseanne's support speaks directly to those of us trying not to fall down the economic ladder like the Conners, and may not feel we're adequately represented with the status quo. I am humbled by Roseanne's offer of support and believe that we need to make government work for all of us, not just those who can afford it."
